So who is the IndyBBQGuru?
The IndyBBQGuru is a nickname for Chuck Penaflor. Born in Kokomo, IN, Chuck attended Kokomo Christian School for 1st Grade through 12th Grade then graduated from Purdue University in 2007 studying Building Construction Management.
Chuck resides in Indianapolis, IN and besides being passionate about BBQ, grilling food, eating good food, and sharing his experience in it all that this whole site is about he has been working for Mattcon General Contractors, Inc. since graduating from Purdue University in their pre-construction division doing estimating, marketing, and business development. Chuck has also been the lead youth pastor at MyChurch Indy since 2014 and the founder and executive director of the Ascent Internship since 2010.
Outside of BBQ, construction, and youth ministry, Chuck is an avid golfer, gun shooter, movie watcher, traveler, hiker, and other stuff.
